Policy Evaluation
While central government bodies often set the strategic framework for education and skills providers, local policies are frequently developed to meet local needs. Understanding how these policies affect learners and the success of learning and skills programmes is critical. This understanding can be used to develop and improve programmes, to ensure that learners are provided with the skills and knowledge they need.
We have experience of working with a wide variety of education and training providers. Our experience across the sector enables us to advice on proven approaches to research.
We have experience in providing the following services:
- Learner attainment and retention – gaining an understanding as to why learners don’t complete their courses and what can be done to re-engage them
- Workforce analysis – accessing what skills local employers need
- E-learning – evaluating and reviewing the current provision of eLearning
- Skills needs analysis
Examples of recently conducted evaluation projects include:
- Association of Accounting Technicians– CPD policy review
- Central London Connexions- evaluation of the ESF Xtra4U project
- Central London Connexions- evaluation of the ‘Successful Practitioners – Successful Young People’ training project
- University for Industry– evaluation of myguide pilot
