ORC International Careers
Working for ORC International
In the UK our internal structure and management philosophy enable us to support the ongoing growth of the company. By striving to provide a challenging, diverse and supportive work environment for our employees, we are building on the foundation from which to continue this success .
Investing in our staff
We recognise that people are the most important asset in any business. Therefore, we recruit and retain the most effective people and provide all our staff with opportunities through training and supported career development.
In 2001 we were awarded the Investors In People accreditation in recognition of our commitment to staff training and development. At the heart of this programme is our performance review process. Company goals are reviewed and set annually, and individual objectives – along with the training needs necessary to meet them – are identified and then aligned to company goals.
Listening to our staff
Internal communication and the sharing of ideas are an integral part of ORC International's culture. Company information is disseminated through regular company meetings and a staff newsletter. We also undertake a staff survey each year and action plans are developed for any areas which could benefit from improvement.
Tools for the future
At ORC International we believe in ensuring that our staff and clients have the best tools for their work. We have a strong commitment to research and development, with the emphasis on online applications that provide both staff and clients with real competitive advantage. ORC e-Insight, our Internet division, was created to develop such applications, and gives our staff exposure to cutting-edge technologies, allowing us to play a major part in creating the market research tools of the future.
Graduate opportunities
Each year we embark on a major graduate recruitment and training programme. An individual induction programme is designed for each new recruit to provide experience across the business. Graduates are encouraged to study for the Market Research Society certificates and diplomas by attending formal MRS training schools. We also support training in other key skills such as IT related tuition and accreditation.
Our quality commitment
We believe that quality is the key to delivering meaningful results. In 2000 ORC International achieved accreditation to MRQSA (BS 7911), a total quality management initiative covering all aspects of work conducted by research organisations. In addition the company is a member of the British Market Research Association (BMRA) and of the Interviewer Quality Control Scheme (IQCS) which aims to ensure high standards of fieldwork interviewing.
