Investors in People
In January 2001, the company was formally recognised for its commitment to training and development and was awarded the Investors in People accreditation.
At the heart of training and development at ORC International, is the performance review process. Company goals are reviewed and set annually, and individual objectives along with training needs identified and aligned to company goals.
The IiP report found that appraisals are consistently delivered and highly valued by staff. In highlighting the company’s strengths, the assessor commented that everyone throughout the company is very clear on business objectives and the future direction of ORC International.

“The company is clearly benefiting from the on-going efforts to improve training and development and implement the principles and philosophy of Investors in People. In summary some of the best practices found included:
- Excellent communication throughout the company. Newsletters and the quarterly meetings are particularly well received.
- Appraisals are being consistently delivered and are highly valued by people.
- Everyone throughout the company is very clear on business objectives and the future direction of the company.
- There is a strong use of performance measures to assess training and development needs.
- People have a strong clarity over their roles.
- The employee survey conducted, demonstrated good practice in particular in terms of the follow-up work that has subsequently happened.”
