Who is ORC International?
ORC International is an independent market research company. We conduct phone, e-mail/Internet, mail and face-to-face opinion surveys for companies and organisations around the world.
Why have you contacted me?
We have been in touch to invite you to take part in a market research interview.
Why should I take part?
It may be that you are a customer, employee or have some contact/involvement with the organisation behind the study. We want to ensure that your views and opinions are heard. The results can make a real difference to the services and products you receive.
Where did you get my contact details from?
It depends on the study. For many of our surveys clients give us the names and details of people they would like us to contact. Alternatively we source household or company details from database companies. Some of our consumer telephone interviewing uses “random digit dialling”. In short, a computer creates a random list of telephone numbers for us to call. This tends to be used when we need to contact a good cross-section of the public.
How can I check you are a reputable company?
As members of the UK Market Research Society we abide by the MRS Code of Conduct. These guidelines ensure that we maintain professional standards in our work and dealings with respondents. It also serves as an assurance that all responses we collect are treated as strictly confidential. For some studies we may ask if you would be happy for your responses to be identified however you are fully entitled to remain anonymous if you wish.

I registered my number with the (TPS) Telephone Preference Service. Why have I been called?
The TPS exists to prevent consumers receiving unsolicited sales or marketing calls. It is important to understand that as a market research organisation we are not selling or marketing products or services and therefore are allowed to contact you by phone. Participating in one of our interviews will never result in any future sales or marketing activity.
